SAU Accreditation Denied
The Board of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) has rejected Saint Augustine’s University's request to restore its accreditation fully.
The university has been under probation since December due to problems related to financial management and insufficient oversight, which threatened its accreditation status. While SAU claimed to have resolved all issues prior to the appeal, they did not fully address concerns regarding financial stability. However, SACSCOC's regulations permitted Saint Augustine’s University to provide extra financial documentation to the appeals committee.
“We have made substantial progress and are confident that our strengthened financial position and governance will ensure a positive outcome,” said Board of Trustees Chairman Brian Boulware. “SAU is resilient, and we are resolute in our commitment to academic excellence.”
