Residents of Southeast Raleigh, also referred to as District C, convened at the Martin Luther King Jr. Student Center on Saint Augustine's campus yesterday for a forum aimed at connecting with City Council candidates. The event was organized by Raleigh historian and activist Octavia Rainey, who facilitated discussions with moderators posing critical questions that the community urgently seeks clarity on. Topics included infrastructure, the performance of the Raleigh Police Department, affordable housing, and various economic issues.
